Overview of the North East Governors’ Forum
The North East Governors’ Forum (NEGF) is a collaborative platform bringing together the Governors of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe States. The Forum was established to provide a united voice for addressing the region’s shared challenges while exploring opportunities for peace, stability, and sustainable development.
The NEGF serves as a bridge between state governments, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and development partners, ensuring that the collective priorities of the North East remain at the forefront of national and international conversations.
Vision & Mission Statements
The North East region has endured decades of challenges, ranging from insurgency and insecurity to humanitarian crises and underdevelopment. Recognizing the need for a unified approach, the Governors of the six North Eastern states came together to form the North East Governors’ Forum in 2020.
The Forum was conceived as a response to the urgent demand for peace, reconstruction, and regional integration. Since its inception, the NEGF has become a driving force for collaborative decision-making, policy harmonization, and coordinated action, ensuring that the people of the region benefit from inclusive and sustainable growth.
